2. Downloading and making CDs and DVDs

Is everything on your site downloadable and also available in hard copy for shipping?

Almost everything is available for both download and shipping. Click the 'see items' button or click on the song name to see the specific products available for each title as well as the shipping options.

Do I need a special program to download files?

No, the files will come automatically from the website to your computer after the purchase process is complete. You will see instructions on how to download your files.

What is an "MP3?"

An MP3 is a standard file format for audio on computers and other digital players. If your computer and software was made in the last five years, an MP3 should be able to play on your computer automatically with the appropriate software.

What do I get when I download a single song Stereo Listening?

You'll get one MP3, a stereo version of the song, complete with kids singing and the accompaniment together.

What do I get when I download a single song split track?

You'll get one MP3. On one side will be the only the kids singing. On the other side will be only the instrumental accompaniment.

What do I get when I download an All-In-One Single Song 5-Pak?

You'll get every product that goes with each of the five songs. That includes:

  1. PDF's
    - Of the kids scores, Full piano/vocal sheet music, written directions of the movements, and resource materials including: music lessons and spiritual lessons.
  2. Audio Files
    - Of the listening CD, and the split track CD.
  3. Video Files
    - Of the movements for each song.

What is a PDF?

PDF (Portable Document Formant) is a file format created by Adobe Systems in 1993 for document exchange. Simply, it's a way for sending a document to any kind of computer, on which you can then view and print it. To view a PDF, you will need Adobe Reader, which is free via the Internet, or another similar program that reads PDF files.

I'm having trouble with Acrobat Reader. Can you help?

  1. Make sure you have the most recent version of Adobe Reader. If you have the latest version of Adobe Reader and still have difficulties, please do the following:

  2. Restart your computer. If you have had Adobe open earlier in the day, it may not have closed properly. In that case, it may not open anything until you restart your computer.

  3. Un-install all older versions of Adobe Reader. Restart computer.

  4. If you already have the latest version of Adobe Reader and the other suggestions don't work, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the program in order to get it working properly. This will solve the problem in 99.99% of the cases where a user has difficulty viewing sheet music.

  5. Find another PDF viewer other than Acrobat Reader. Search the Internet to find free viewers for both Mac and PC.

What do I get when I download an "All-In-One" musical?

You'll get every product that goes with the musical. That includes:

  1. PDFs - Of the kids scores, drama script, tech script, Full piano/vocal sheet music, written directions of the movements, and resource materials including: music lessons, spiritual lessons and a devotional book.
  2. Audio Files - Of the listening CD, and the split track CD.
  3. Video files - Of the movements for each song.

What do I get when I download a Preview Pack?

You'll receive the full Piano/Vocal/Script PDF and all the audio files (MP3s) of the listening version of the musical. Important These preview packs are for review only and may not be duplicated. If you want to duplicate the sheet music and/or the audio files, please purchase the corresponding item so you will be authorized to make as many copies as you need for your individual church.

What is a "Split Track" CD?

The split track CD has the music on one channel and the kids singing on the other channel of a stereo CD. Any solos performed on the listening version will be left off.

How do I use a "Split Track" CD?

A split track CD is used as your music tracks for a performance. From a CD player with stereo outs, use mono-to-mono cables to plug in both channels to separate faders on the mixing board. Then turn up the music as needed and also turn up the vocal side a little bit if you need to reinforce your choir. Since the solos are not on the split track, any solos will be performed live without having to turn down the solo in the music track. You could also use your split track to practice with, turning up or down the vocals as needed to help the kids learn the song.

What does "burning" a CD mean?

'Burning' a CD simply means to make a CD from the downloaded MP3s (or audio files) that you can play on any CD player.

I can hear the single song MP3s play on my computer, but how do I get it on a CD for my kids to sing to?

This is a big step, and it's easy if you know how. Here's a few ways:

  1. Find a computer-savvy teenager and let him or her do it. Seriously, if you've never done it before, this could save you a lot of headaches and they could teach you as well.
  2. Burn your own CD. This requires that you have burning software on your computer. Probably the easiest way (and it's free) is to use Apple's iTunes. it's available as a free download for Mac OS X, Windows Vista, and Windows XP from Apple's website. it's also bundled with all Macs, and some HP and Dell computers. Older versions are available for Mac OS 9, OS X 10.0-10.2 and Windows 2000. Rather than list all the burning software available for the many different computer types, you can google 'burning software' to find what might work for you. Once you decide which software you need, just follow the directions to burn your downloaded MP3s or audio files onto a CD.
  3. If numbers 1 and 2 above don't work for you, then you could purchase the hardcopy CD from our website and have it shipped to you, ready to play.

How do I burn a musical's split track or listening CD?

  1. Place all the audio files into your burning software.
  2. Make sure they are all in numerical order. (xxxxx01, xxxxx02, and so on, all the way down the list.
  3. Find the place in your burning software that adjusts the gap between tracks and SET TO ZERO. This is very important, because you will not want any space between the tracks in the split track version of the CD. For iTunes, go to the top menu 'iTunes', pull down and select 'Preferences'. Click on 'Advanced'. Click on 'Burning'. Go to the window next to 'Gap Between Songs:'' and select 'none'.
  4. Follow the directions of your software to burn the CD.

How come it takes so long to download files?

Depending on what package of audio, video or PDF's you are downloading, simply put, the files are really big. If you have a dial-up connection, like AOL, the download process could take a very, very, very . . . long time. We recommend that you have at least DSL or cable modem Internet access.

I'm trying to order something, but nothing ever goes into my "shopping cart." What's wrong?

The Online Store uses "Cookies" to keep track of your cart. Make sure these are enabled in your browser. This is a common way of keeping web browser data. Please consult your browsers "help" section if you don't know how to do this.

I ordered something and paid for it. Now I'm back at the website and I don't know where to download it. Where is it?

For some browsers, you aren't automatically sent back to the download section. Go to the "Online Store" page. Once there, look for the "My Account" words in the upper right, under the PAM logo. Click on the words "My Account." This will take you to the download section.

I paid for the download and pushed the download button, but nothing happened, what can I do now?

  1. Make sure you have enough room on your hard disk for the download. For some All-In-One packages, this could be as much as 600 MB.
  2. If you have an older computer, or a slow Internet connection, you may have to wait longer for the download to complete.
  3. Re-check your computer desktop to see if the file really did download or not. It may be hidden somewhere.
  4. If your Internet connection was interrupted, or failed, there may be some technical issues involved. First determine that your Internet connection is reliable. If it's wireless, switch to wired if possible or get closer to your transmitter for a stronger connection. If you know you can download from other sites reliably and your Internet connection is solid and you still can't download our files after trying all suggested solutions, please use the 'Contact' page of our web site to send us an email or use our customer service phone number, 1-615-758-5991, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Central time, Monday-Friday.

I made a split track CD and some of the music is out of order. What happened?

You'll need to burn another CD and make sure this time that all the audio files are in the correct order and none are missing.

I made a split track CD and there are spaces in the music that shouldn't be there. What happened?

You'll need to burn another CD and make sure this time that you find the place in your burning software that lets you set the gap between songs. SET THE GAP BETWEEN SONGS TO ZERO. Burn another CD. That will fix the problem.

How do I make a listening CD of a single song 5-Pak, or several single songs that I downloaded?

  1. Place all the audio files into your burning software.
  2. You can put them into any order, depending on your preference.
  3. Find the place in your burning software that adjusts the gap between tracks and SET TO 2 SECONDS. For iTunes, go to the top menu 'iTunes', pull down and select 'Preferences'. Click on 'Advanced'. Click on 'Burning'. Go to the window next to 'Gap Between Songs:' and select '2 sec.'
  4. Follow the directions of your software to burn the CD.
  5. Optional (if you have Itunes) With your playlist window open, go to the 'File' menu; choose 'Print'. Select the top button 'CD jewel case insert' and choose one of the themes; press print. This will make a CD insert for a jewel case that you can cut out, that tells you what's on your CD and which tracks the songs are on.

I made a listening CD of a musical and some of the music is out of order. What happened?

You'll need to burn another CD and make sure this time that all the audio tracks are in the correct order and none are missing.

I made a listening CD of a single song 5-Pak or some single songs and there are no spaces between the songs. What happened?

You'll need to burn another CD and make sure this time that you find the place in your burning software that lets you set the gap between songs. SET THE GAP BETWEEN SONGS TO TWO SECONDS. That will fix the problem.

I can see and hear the videos play on my computer, but how do I get it on a DVD for my kids to sing to?

Again, like the audio downloads, this is a big step, and it's easy if you know how. Here's a few ways:

  1. Find that computer wiz kid. He or she can probably get it done without thinking twice. They could probably teach you.
  2. Burn your own DVD. This requires that you have DVD creation software on your computer. Probably the easiest way, if you have a newer Mac, is to use iDVD that comes bundled with your computer. Follow the directions for creating a DVD from separate movie files and burn your DVD. We recommend using blank DVDs that are called 'DVD-R'. (Not the DVD+R) If you're using a non-Mac computer, then you can find DVD creation software for your system if this is important for you.
  3. If numbers 1 and 2 above don't work for you, then you could purchase the hardcopy DVD from our website and have it shipped to you, ready to play.

Can I preview the sheet music on-line?

As of now, no. Every song, however, has a lengthy audio demo you can listen to on-line. If there is a large request for previewing sheet music, we may include this in the future.

Do you have orchestrations available for your single songs or musicals?

Not very many, but if you request one or more not available, we may be able to help you. Many of the songs do not have instrument parts because they have only drums, guitars and keyboards. For songs that have trumpets, trombone, saxes, and woodwinds, orchestrations can be made available on a song-by-song (or musical collection) basis. It never hurts to ask, right?

What is contained in "The Promise Cruise" orchestration?

Piano (same as in the Full Piano/Voc/Script book, but without the vocal)

Synthesizer/Rhythm (for drums, gtr, bass, synth., perc)

Flute

Clarinet

Trumpet 1,2

Alto Sax

Tenor Sax

Trombone 1,2

Baritone Sax

Also included are parts for optional substitutions or doublings. Use these to add to the primary parts above or to substitute for them if needed.

Flute 2 or Oboe (Clar.)

French Horn (Alto Sax)

Trumpet 3 (Alto Sax)

Bass Trombone (Baritone Sax)

This printed orchestration differs slightly from what you hear on the listening CD because it is expanded for the small 'pit band'. The printed parts are optimized for horn players, with parts simplified and ranges generally lowered from the 'studio' versions, which are often way to hard to play for the normal Sunday musician.

If you have your musicians listen to the vocal CD to help them learn their parts (especially for the rhythm section), then they will get a good sense of what to play, although the CD may be slightly different in places for the horn players.

If you have extra percussionists available, have them play Latin percussion, ad lib (shaker, tambourine, congas, wind chimes, etc.), suspended cymbals, and even occasional timpani in the big sections! Experienced players will know what to play.

If you have only a few players for your 'pit band', this orchestration could still work:

Start with the rhythm section, piano at the very minimum. Then add whatever players you can: bass, drums, percussion, synthesizer, acoustic guitar and electric guitar.

For the horn section, you could possibly use just one trumpet and one trombone. Expand as you have more players; you don't have to use ALL the parts, but it would sound better if you did.

Have fun with The Promise Cruise!

Do I have to pay tax on my downloads or shipments?

As of right now, today, only those people ordering from Tennessee, USA, are subject to tax. This may change in the future depending on the laws affecting Internet commerce and taxes. But, if you qualify for tax-exempt status, (any church in good standing) you tax-exempt even in Tennessee. See the instructions during the payment process regarding the tax-exempt issue.

What is "PayPal?"

PayPal is like an online bank, and acts as a third party credit card processing company. When you pay using PayPal, it's just like using a credit card or debit card.

Do I have to have an account with PayPal?

No, You'll use your credit card or debit card just the same as you always do.

What credit cards or debit cards can I use with PayPal?

All major credit cards and debit cards can be used.

Can I pay by check with PayPal?

No, that requires a different process.

Can I order products by sending you a check?

Yes, if you send the correct amount, including tax (if needed) and shipping (if you want hard copies). We'll then email you the downloads or ship the products.

How much is it to ship internationally from the USA?

Send us an email telling us what you want and we'll get back to you with the amount.

Can I order over the phone?

Feel free to contact us with your questions or concerns, but please note we are unable to accept phone orders.

Where and when can I call you to get help and how do I contact you if I have a suggestion?

Pam Andrews Music, LLC welcomes your comments, compliments and concerns.

We will reply as soon as possible. Use the 'Contact' page on our website to send us an email. If you would like to receive customer help via telephone, please call 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Central time, Monday-Friday at 1-615-758-5991.

3. Other Issues

I downloaded a song and then decided I don't want it. Can I get my money back?

Unfortunately, no. That's why we include a description of the song and a lengthy audio demo to listen to, so you know what you are getting before you buy.

How come the listening CD costs so much?

Because we allow you to make as many copies as you need for your choir. When you buy from most other companies, you're required to buy one copy for each person that wants one. So if their CD costs $10, and you need one for each of your 15 kids, that would be you spending $150. (Remember, it's unlawful to duplicate CDs without permission).

Our company is granting you a license to make as many copies of the CD as you need for your individual church, so we're providing you a way to make copies for all your kids legally as well as being less expensive overall.

How come the sheet music for the musicals cost so much?

Again, like the audio CDs, you're allowed to make as many copies as you need for your individual church. When you buy music books from most other companies, you're required to buy one copy for each person that wants one. So if their book costs $6, and you need one for each of your 15 kids, that would be you spending $90. (Remember, it's unlawful to duplicate music books without permission). Our company is granting you a license to make as many copies of the sheet music as you need for your individual church, so we're providing you a way to make copies for all your kids legally as well as being less expensive overall.

Are any of your tracks or sheet music available in other keys?

Unlike some other popular commercial music download sites, we do not offer various keys. The vocal ranges of our songs are optimized for kids voices and so various keys are not needed for choir use.

Can I send pictures of our church doing your musical so you can put it on your web site?

Yes!! Please do. If we have enough room for everyone who responds, we'll post your pictures with your name and where you are.

Can I get T-shirts with the logo of the musical on it?

Yes! Go to this link to order your T-shirts: CLICK HERE

How often do you add new songs and musicals?

As fast as we can. We're starting out small but hope to continue growing every month.

Check back often to look for more of our new music and products!
